I was going to put my lower half of my out drive back on today after I put a new impeller in it and I noticed the seal in the bottom of the upper housing where the drive shaft goes thru to engage the spines was bad I took it out and now I have a question. After running the boat for a few weekends I noticed that the gear oil was leaking out of a small drain hole on the lower unit housing on the opposite side of the drain plug slow leak. I removed the lower unit to check the seals in the shift shaft and to replace. I replaced the impeller on the SEI106 lower unit as I re-assemble the unit seems like an oil seal from the upper drive shaft broke it is a plastic piece with a spring inside.
